Baruch
The faithful scribe and loyal secretary to the prophet Jeremiah during the fall of Jerusalem.
Baruch son of Neriah served as Jeremiah's scribe, recording and reading the prophet's dictated oracles before the people and King Jehoiakim. He remained a steadfast companion to Jeremiah through the siege of Jerusalem and the subsequent exile to Egypt. While the name Baruch also appears in Nehemiah as a builder of the wall, the scribe of Jeremiah is the primary figure associated with this name in the Old Testament.
