Old Testament
Bera
The king of Sodom who joined a coalition of five kings to rebel against Chedorlaomer.
Bera was the king of Sodom during the time of Abraham. He led his city-state in a failed rebellion against the Elamite king Chedorlaomer, resulting in the capture of Sodom's inhabitants and goods. His brief appearance serves to establish the political landscape of the region and the context for Abraham's military intervention.
