Old Testament
Cushan-rishathaim
The King of Aram-Naharaim who oppressed Israel for eight years during the period of the judges.
Cushan-rishathaim was an Aramean king who subjugated the Israelites after they turned away from the Lord. His eight-year reign of oppression prompted Israel to cry out to God, leading to the appointment of Othniel as their first judge and deliverer. His defeat by Othniel restored peace to the land for forty years.
