Jacob
The father of Joseph, the husband of Mary, in the genealogy of Jesus Christ.
Jacob is identified in the Gospel of Matthew as the father of Joseph, who was the husband of Mary. He appears solely within the ancestral lineage of Jesus, serving to establish the legal descent of Christ through the line of David. This Jacob is distinct from the patriarch Jacob of the Old Testament.
