New Testament
Jannes
An Egyptian magician who opposed Moses and serves as a warning against resisting the truth.
Jannes is mentioned by the Apostle Paul in 2 Timothy 3:8 alongside Jambres as an example of those who oppose the truth. While not named in the Old Testament, tradition identifies them as the Egyptian magicians who resisted Moses during the Exodus. Paul uses them to illustrate the character of false teachers who corrupt the faith.
