Old Testament
Nebu-sar-sekim
A Babylonian official present at the fall of Jerusalem under King Nebuchadnezzar.
Nebu-sar-sekim is identified in Jeremiah 39:3 as the Rab-saris, a high-ranking Babylonian official, who sat at the Middle Gate during the capture of Jerusalem. His presence confirms the historical accuracy of the Babylonian siege and the fulfillment of divine judgment against Judah. Archaeological evidence, such as a cuneiform tablet from 595 BC, supports the existence of this official in the court of Nebuchadnezzar.
