New Testament
Rhoda
A servant girl in Jerusalem who recognized Peter's voice at the gate after his miraculous prison release.
Rhoda was a servant in the house of Mary, the mother of John Mark. When Peter arrived at the gate following his escape from prison, she was so overjoyed to hear his voice that she ran to report it without opening the door. Her account highlights the early church's surprise at the direct answer to their prayers for Peter's safety.
