Old Testament
Tobijah
A Levite sent by Jehoshaphat to teach the Law and a post-exilic returnee honored in the temple.
Tobijah is identified in 2 Chronicles 17:8 as one of the Levites commissioned by King Jehoshaphat to teach the Book of the Law throughout the cities of Judah. A man by the same name is also mentioned in Zechariah 6:14 as one of the exiles returning from Babylon whose contribution of silver and gold was memorialized in the temple of the Lord. These references likely refer to two distinct individuals serving God in different historical eras.
