Old Testament
Ziphion
A son of Gad and grandson of Jacob, listed among the heads of the clans of the tribe of Gad.
Ziphion is identified in Genesis 46:16 as one of the sons of Gad who accompanied Jacob to Egypt. He is also recorded in Numbers 26:15 as the ancestor of the Ziphonite clan during the census taken in the wilderness. His inclusion in these genealogies serves to document the expansion and tribal structure of the Israelites.
