Old Testament
Assir
A son of Korah and descendant of Levi, listed in the genealogical records of the Exodus.
Assir is identified in Exodus 6:24 as one of the three sons of Korah, the son of Izhar, the son of Kohath, the son of Levi. He appears solely within the context of the Levitical genealogy, which serves to establish the lineage of Moses and Aaron. The name Assir appears elsewhere in Scripture referring to different individuals, such as a descendant of Jeconiah in 1 Chronicles 3:17.
