Deborah
A prophetess and judge who led Israel to victory over the Canaanite forces of Sisera.
Deborah served as a prophetess and the only female judge of Israel, holding court under a palm tree. She commissioned Barak to lead the Israelite army against Jabin’s forces, ultimately securing victory through the hand of Jael. Her leadership is celebrated in the Song of Deborah, which highlights her role as a mother in Israel and her reliance on the Lord for deliverance.
