Elkanah
A Levite from Ramathaim-zophim who was the faithful husband of Hannah and father of the prophet Samuel.
Elkanah is primarily known as the husband of Hannah and Peninnah, and the father of the prophet Samuel. He demonstrated spiritual leadership by annually taking his family to Shiloh to worship and sacrifice to the Lord. While the name appears in various genealogies throughout the Old Testament, the Elkanah of 1 Samuel is the most prominent figure, noted for his devotion to God and his compassionate support of Hannah during her barrenness.
