Hacaliah
Hacaliah is identified in the book of Nehemiah as the father of Nehemiah, the cupbearer to King Artaxerxes.
Hacaliah is mentioned only once in the opening verse of the book of Nehemiah to establish the lineage of Nehemiah. Beyond his role as the father of this prominent leader, the Scriptures provide no further biographical details regarding his life or activities. His inclusion serves primarily to provide historical context for Nehemiah's identity and his subsequent work in rebuilding the walls of Jerusalem.
