Old Testament
Helkai
A priestly head of a family during the time of Joiakim, son of Jeshua.
Helkai is mentioned in Nehemiah 12:15 as a representative of a priestly family during the high priesthood of Joiakim. His inclusion in the genealogical record serves to document the restoration of the priestly orders following the return from the Babylonian exile. He represents the continuity of the Levitical service in Jerusalem.
