Old Testament
Hobab
The son of Reuel the Midianite who served as a guide for the Israelites through the wilderness.
Hobab was the brother-in-law of Moses and a member of the Midianite clan of the Kenites. Though initially reluctant, he was invited by Moses to accompany the Israelites to provide local knowledge of the wilderness terrain. His descendants, the Kenites, later settled in the land of Judah and maintained a historical connection to Israel.
