New Testament
Hymenaeus
An early church member who abandoned the faith and spread false teachings regarding the resurrection.
Hymenaeus was an associate of Alexander and Philetus who departed from the truth by claiming the resurrection had already occurred. Paul identified him as a false teacher, noting that he had made shipwreck of his faith. Consequently, Paul delivered him to Satan so that he might learn not to blaspheme.
