Old Testament
Joiada
A post-exilic leader who helped repair Jerusalem's walls and whose grandson married a daughter of Sanballat.
Joiada, son of Eliashib, served as a high priest during the restoration of Jerusalem. He is noted for his role in the wall repairs under Nehemiah and for the controversy involving his grandson, who married the daughter of Sanballat the Horonite. This marriage led to the grandson's expulsion from the priesthood by Nehemiah for violating the purity of the priestly line.
