Jonah
A prophet of the Northern Kingdom who reluctantly obeyed God's command to preach repentance to Nineveh.
Jonah son of Amittai was a prophet during the reign of Jeroboam II. He is best known for his attempt to flee from God's mission, his time inside a great fish, and his subsequent preaching to the Ninevites. His ministry highlights God's sovereignty over nature and His compassion for all nations, a theme later referenced by Jesus as a sign of His own death and resurrection.
