Old Testament
Medad
One of the seventy elders who received the Spirit and prophesied in the camp of Israel.
Medad was one of the seventy elders appointed to assist Moses in leading the Israelites. Although he remained in the camp rather than going to the tent of meeting, the Spirit of the Lord rested upon him, and he prophesied. His experience highlights the sovereign distribution of God's Spirit beyond the formal leadership structure.
