Old Testament
Piltai
A priestly head of the family of Moadiah during the time of Joiakim the high priest.
Piltai is identified in Nehemiah 12:17 as a representative of the priestly house of Moadiah during the high priesthood of Joiakim. His inclusion in the genealogical records serves to document the restoration of the priestly service following the return from Babylonian exile. He represents the continuity of the Levitical order in the post-exilic community.
