Old Testament
Salu
A Simeonite leader and the father of Zimri, who was slain for his rebellion against God at Shittim.
Salu is identified in Numbers 25:14 as a leader of a father's house among the Simeonites. He is mentioned solely to establish the lineage of his son, Zimri, who brought a Midianite woman into the Israelite camp during the plague at Shittim. His inclusion serves to document the specific tribal identity of those involved in the apostasy at Peor.
