New Testament
Sapphira
The wife of Ananias who conspired with him to lie to the Holy Spirit regarding their offering.
Sapphira was a member of the early Jerusalem church who, alongside her husband Ananias, sold a piece of property and deceptively withheld a portion of the proceeds. When confronted by Peter, she persisted in the lie and subsequently died under divine judgment. Her account serves as a solemn warning regarding the necessity of integrity and the fear of God within the community of believers.
