Old Testament
Shimeon
One of the men of the descendants of Harim who took foreign wives during the time of Ezra.
Shimeon is listed among the Israelites who confessed to marrying foreign women in violation of the law following the return from Babylonian exile. His inclusion in the record of Ezra 10 serves as historical evidence of the widespread nature of this spiritual compromise among the returned exiles. He is identified specifically as a descendant of Harim.
