Old Testament
Shiphtan
An Ephraimite leader appointed by God to help divide the land of Canaan among the tribes of Israel.
Shiphtan was the father of Kemuel, the representative chosen from the tribe of Ephraim to assist in the distribution of the Promised Land. He is mentioned only in Numbers 34:24 as part of the list of leaders appointed by the Lord for this administrative task. His role highlights the orderly and tribal-based inheritance process established for the Israelites.
