Old Testament
Tabeal
An unnamed father whose son was chosen by the kings of Israel and Syria to replace King Ahaz of Judah.
Tabeal is mentioned only in Isaiah 7:6 as the father of a man whom the coalition of Rezin of Syria and Pekah of Israel intended to install as a puppet king over Judah. The name is likely Aramaic in origin, meaning God is good. His significance lies in the failed political conspiracy that prompted Isaiah to deliver the prophecy of Immanuel to King Ahaz.
