Old Testament
Adrammelech
A son of Sennacherib who assassinated his father and fled to the land of Ararat.
Adrammelech was a prince of Assyria who, along with his brother Sharezer, murdered King Sennacherib while he was worshipping in the temple of Nisroch. This act of patricide is recorded in 2 Kings 19:37 and Isaiah 37:38, fulfilling the prophecy that Sennacherib would fall by the sword in his own land. The name also appears in 2 Kings 17:31 as a deity worshipped by the Sepharvites through child sacrifice, though the prince and the idol are distinct entities.
