Old Testament
Arad
A Canaanite king who attacked the Israelites in the Negev, leading to his defeat and the destruction of his cities.
Arad was a Canaanite king who opposed the Israelites as they approached the Promised Land from the south. After his forces captured some Israelites, the people vowed to destroy his cities, a task later completed by the Israelites under the Lord's direction. The name also appears in the genealogy of Benjamin in 1 Chronicles, likely referring to a different individual.
