Old Testament
Chenaniah
A Levite leader who served as the instructor of music during the transport of the Ark of the Covenant.
Chenaniah was a Levite chief appointed by David to oversee the musical performance during the relocation of the Ark of the Covenant to Jerusalem because he was skilled in the craft. Later, he served as an officer and judge for the Israelites outside of Jerusalem, managing external affairs for the king. His roles highlight the importance of both liturgical excellence and administrative order in the service of the temple.
