Old Testament
Dathan
A Reubenite who rebelled against Moses and Aaron, leading to his judgment by the earth opening.
Dathan was a son of Eliab who joined Korah and Abiram in a conspiracy against the leadership of Moses and Aaron. He challenged Moses' authority, claiming he had led the people out of Egypt only to cause them to perish in the wilderness. His rebellion resulted in divine judgment when the ground split beneath him and his household, swallowing them alive.
