New Testament
Demas
A fellow worker of Paul who initially served the ministry but later abandoned it for the world.
Demas was a companion of the Apostle Paul during his first Roman imprisonment, mentioned alongside Luke in Colossians and Philemon. However, in 2 Timothy 4:10, Paul records that Demas deserted him because he loved this present world. His trajectory serves as a sobering biblical warning regarding the danger of spiritual apostasy.
