Eglon
A king of Moab who oppressed Israel for eighteen years before being assassinated by Ehud.
Eglon was a Moabite king who formed an alliance with the Ammonites and Amalekites to defeat Israel and occupy the City of Palms. His eighteen-year reign of oppression served as divine judgment for Israel's disobedience. His death at the hands of the judge Ehud marked the end of Moabite control and the beginning of a period of peace for the land.
