Both Testaments · Major figure
Gog
A mysterious leader or nation prophesied to lead a final rebellion against God's people.
Gog appears in 1 Chronicles as a descendant of Reuben, but is most prominent in Ezekiel 38-39 and Revelation 20 as a symbolic figure representing the ultimate opposition to God's kingdom. Ezekiel describes Gog as the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal who leads a vast coalition against Israel in the latter days. Revelation uses this imagery to depict the final eschatological battle where the nations are gathered against the saints before the final judgment.
