Hagri

A nomadic tribe of the Transjordan region that engaged in conflict with the tribe of Reuben.

The Hagrites were a nomadic people group dwelling in the eastern regions of Gilead during the reign of Saul. They are primarily noted for their defeat by the tribe of Reuben, which resulted in the Israelites occupying their territory. Later, the Chronicler identifies Jaziz the Hagrite as the overseer of King David's flocks, indicating their integration into the royal administration.
