Old Testament

Harhur

A head of a family of temple servants who returned from the Babylonian exile with Zerubbabel.

Harhur is listed among the Nethinim, or temple servants, who returned to Jerusalem from captivity in Babylon. His name appears in the genealogical records of Ezra 2 and Nehemiah 7, which document the families that resettled in Judah. These lists serve to verify the identity and heritage of the returning exiles as they sought to restore the temple service.
