Hosea
A prophet of Israel whose marriage served as a living parable of God's faithful love for unfaithful Israel.
Hosea was a prophet in the Northern Kingdom during the reigns of Uzziah through Hezekiah. His marriage to Gomer, an unfaithful wife, acted as a prophetic sign illustrating Israel's spiritual adultery against Yahweh. His message emphasizes the tension between God's righteous judgment and His enduring, covenantal mercy.
