Old Testament · Major figure
Hur
A faithful leader who supported Moses in battle and helped oversee the construction of the tabernacle.
Hur was a prominent leader in Israel who held up Moses' hands during the battle against Amalek and was later appointed alongside Aaron to judge the people. He was the grandfather of Bezalel, the master craftsman chosen by God to build the tabernacle. While the name Hur appears in several genealogies, the primary biblical figure is recognized for his administrative support and his family's role in Israel's early religious life.
