Old Testament
Meraioth
A priest and descendant of Zadok who served in the lineage of the high priests.
Meraioth was a priest in the line of Eleazar and Phinehas, appearing in the genealogical records of 1 Chronicles, Ezra, and Nehemiah. His inclusion in these lists serves to establish the legitimate priestly succession following the Babylonian exile. He represents the continuity of the Aaronic priesthood through the restoration period.
