Old Testament
Padon
A head of a family of temple servants who returned from the Babylonian exile with Zerubbabel.
Padon was the patriarch of a family of Nethinim, or temple servants, who returned to Jerusalem from Babylonian captivity. His name appears in the lists of those who accompanied Zerubbabel and Jeshua in Ezra 2:44 and Nehemiah 7:47. These records serve to document the restoration of the community and the preservation of the temple service roles after the exile.
