New Testament
Rufus
A Christian in Rome greeted by Paul, possibly the son of Simon of Cyrene who carried Jesus' cross.
Rufus is mentioned by the Apostle Paul in Romans 16:13 as an eminent believer in the Roman church. Many scholars suggest he may be the son of Simon of Cyrene, who was compelled to carry the cross of Jesus in Mark 15:21. His inclusion in Paul's final greetings highlights the diverse and interconnected nature of the early Christian community.
