Old Testament
Shemiramoth
A Levite musician who served during the reign of King David and later taught the Law under King Jehoshaphat.
Shemiramoth was a Levite of the second rank who served as a musician during the transfer of the Ark of the Covenant to Jerusalem. Later, he was one of the Levites commissioned by King Jehoshaphat to travel throughout the cities of Judah to teach the Book of the Law to the people. His service highlights the Levites' dual role in both liturgical worship and the instruction of Israel in God's Word.
