Old Testament
Talmai
A descendant of Anak dwelling in Hebron who was driven out by the tribe of Judah.
Talmai was one of the Anakim, a group of giants encountered by the Israelite spies in Hebron. He represents the formidable opposition Israel faced during the conquest of Canaan. The name also appears in the Davidic genealogy, referring to the father of Maakah, one of King David's wives and the mother of Absalom.
