Abimael

A descendant of Shem and son of Joktan listed in the Table of Nations.

Abimael is identified in the genealogies of Genesis 10 and 1 Chronicles 1 as one of the thirteen sons of Joktan. As a descendant of Shem, he represents one of the post-Flood family lines that populated the earth following the dispersion at Babel. His inclusion serves to document the expansion of the Semitic peoples in the ancient Near East.
