Adonijah
The fourth son of David who attempted to seize the throne of Israel before Solomon was established as king.
Adonijah was the son of David and Haggith who sought to claim the kingship for himself as his father grew old. Despite his attempt to secure the throne, Solomon was anointed king according to David's decree and God's promise. Adonijah was later executed by Solomon's order after requesting Abishag the Shunammite, an act interpreted as a continued challenge to the royal succession.
