Old Testament
Alvan
Alvan was a descendant of Seir the Horite and a son of Shobal in the genealogy of Edom.
Alvan is identified in the genealogies of Genesis 36 and 1 Chronicles 1 as a descendant of Seir the Horite. As a son of Shobal, he represents a lineage within the clans of Edom. His inclusion serves to document the historical inhabitants of the region of Seir before the descendants of Esau displaced them.
