Old Testament
Aran
A descendant of Seir the Horite and a son of Dishan mentioned in the Edomite genealogies.
Aran is identified in the genealogical records of Genesis 36 and 1 Chronicles 1 as a son of Dishan and a grandson of Seir the Horite. He represents one of the clans of the Horites who inhabited the region of Edom before the descendants of Esau displaced them. His inclusion serves to document the historical lineage and tribal structure of the peoples living in the land of Seir.
