Old Testament
Ashkenaz
The first son of Gomer and a descendant of Japheth, representing a nation in the Table of Nations.
Ashkenaz is listed in the Table of Nations as a son of Gomer, son of Japheth, establishing his lineage among the post-Flood descendants of Noah. He appears in the genealogical records of Genesis 10 and 1 Chronicles 1 as the progenitor of a people group. Jeremiah 51:27 later identifies the kingdom of Ashkenaz as a participant in the divine judgment against Babylon.
