Old Testament
Ginath
A man whose followers unsuccessfully contested Omri for the throne of Israel after Zimri's death.
Ginath was the father of Tibni, the man who led half of the people of Israel in a civil war against Omri for the kingship. Following the suicide of the usurper Zimri, the nation split between the factions of Tibni and Omri. The conflict ended when Omri's supporters prevailed, resulting in Tibni's death and Omri's consolidation of power.
