Old Testament
Ira
A priest of David and a military commander among the twelve monthly divisions of Israel.
Ira is identified in 2 Samuel 20:26 as a priest to King David. The name also appears in 1 Chronicles 27:9, where an Ira the Tekoite is listed as the commander of the sixth monthly division of David's army. While these may refer to the same individual, the text does not explicitly confirm if the priest and the military commander were the same person.
