Kareah
A military officer who joined Gedaliah after the fall of Jerusalem and later opposed Jeremiah.
Kareah was the father of Johanan, a prominent military leader during the Babylonian exile. He is primarily mentioned in the context of his son's leadership among the remnant left in Judah after the destruction of Jerusalem. His family line is significant for their involvement in the political turmoil and the eventual forced migration of the remaining Jews to Egypt against the prophet Jeremiah's warnings.
