Old Testament
Mehetabel
The wife of Hadar, an early king of Edom, and the mother of Delaiah in the post-exilic period.
The name Mehetabel appears for two distinct individuals in Scripture. The first is the daughter of Matred and wife of Hadar, the final king of Edom listed in Genesis 36 and 1 Chronicles 1. The second is the grandmother of Shemaiah, a man who attempted to intimidate Nehemiah during the rebuilding of Jerusalem's walls.
